Meet the Perfect Couple: Desserts & Rom Coms

There isn’t a more perfect combo than rom coms and desserts. In honor of Dessert Goals this weekend, we’re sharing three pairings of desserts to eat while watching a feel-good flick.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s + Croissants

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is filled with some of the most iconic scenes in popular culture and Audrey Hepburn is a total dreamboat. We recommend a plate of tasty croissants while watching and perhaps a stroll at your local Tiffany’s to marvel at all the sparkles following the film. As they say, diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but desserts come a close second.

Crazy Rich Asians + Egg Tarts

Definitely one of the most feel-good films of 2018, Crazy Rich Asians is just as fun to watch the second, third or fourth time! Egg tarts are delicious custard style tarts found across Asia + Portugal and are a must for this film, especially during the Singapore night market scene. You’ll be drooling during this movie, at the love story and the food!

Gather your egg tarts from:

  • Stop by your city’s local Chinatown to pick up a pack of egg tarts from pretty much any bakery.

  • 85 Degree Bakery Cafe with various locations across CA, TX + WA serves divine egg tarts (3.5 million per year according to their Instagram!) as well as many other goodies.

  • Bake Cheese Tart in SF – you wouldn’t expect the find the most delicious dessert inside a Westfield mall – but these are not to be missed. This cheesy take on the egg tart is famous in Japan and Bake Cheese Tart’s first US location is in SF.

  • Joey Bats in NYC serves pastel de nata, the Portuguese egg tart, which they describe as “Crème brûlée wrapped in a flaky croissant,” and is seriously not to be missed.

Sixteen Candles + Cake

One of the most heart-swooning moments in all rom coms may be when Jake Ryan, wearing his sweater vest, is waiting outside the church in front of his red Porsche. Seriously, swooooon! You’ll be smiling through the whole film at darling Molly Ringwald. Best enjoyed with a slice, or a few, of delicious cake to celebrate Samantha’s sweet sixteen.
